Having done little by way of sightseeing in Łódź, we decide to try out four escape rooms in one day. The final game we play is the Pirate Hideout escape room run by Tkalnia Zagadek in Łódź. You may see this game listed as “Kryjówka Piratów” on Polish websites.

What did we think of the Pirate Hideout escape room in Łódź?
Who doesn’t love a pirate themed escape room? This one starts in a dimly lit ship’s cabin and continues in the same vein throughout.
There’s a good mix of physical, mental and observational challenges that keep us on our toes. As with all the other Tkalnia Zagadek games, things start very simply to get you into the groove, then become more difficult as the game progresses. The range of challenges means that there is something for everyone.
The quality of theming is excellent and the room is in very good condition. It appeals to my inner Goonies fan.
Once again, the last puzzle is the hardest. I make the mistake of trying to follow the final set of clues literally, ending in total failure. Thankfully, Linda is able to approach the challenge more laterally and we do eventually escape – six minutes after the clock run out.

This room takes place in very low light, making it quite hard to see key details – like the numbers on padlocks. We found ourselves frequently searching for enough light to observe important clues, slowing progress considerably.
Pirate Hideout escape room review – conclusion
The games masters tell us that this is the second newest room they have (after Frankenstein which is not currently available in English). This helps to explain why the props and decor are in such good condition.
This is possibly the easiest of the four games we have played today – and it still feels considerably harder than many of the UK rooms we have sampled this year. Again, time moved very quickly, suggesting that we were enjoying ourselves.
If you’re new to escape rooms, or want to “warm up” before tackling one of the harder rooms, Pirate Hideout is a good place to start.

There is no crawling or climbing in this game, but you may be required to bend low to move between rooms.
