Here’s a list of our Amazon Prime Day Travel Essentials. The stuff we never leave home without. In fact, some of these items never leave my suitcase so they are ready to travel when we are.
Best of all, our selection have all been reduced in price – but probably for today only…
Amazon Fire Stick – 58% off, now £24.99
We’re not big fans of using valuable travel time watching TV, but sometimes the weather is too bad to go out. Or you’re staying in a lodge miles from anywhere and you need something to do in the evenings.
The Amazon Fire Stick is the perfect diversion. Very small, very lightweight, you can toss one of these into your suitcase or hand luggage ‘just in case’. As well as downloading apps for all your favourite channels (BBC iPlayer, ITV X, 4OD etc) you can also access Netflix and Amazon Prime.
Simply plug the stick into the HDMI port and log onto the WiFi network, then stream away.
And yes, the Fire Stick does work on cruise ships – if your TV has an HDMI port (and you have paid for the WiFi package).

Plenty of built-in apps and the option to install more means there’s always something to watch.
Packing Cubes – now £9.99
Love ‘em or hate ‘em, packing cubes do allow you to cram more into your suitcase. However, this does dramatically increase the risk of breaching weight limits.

A useful selection of packing cubes to compress and contain most of your luggage.
Luggage straps – 15% off, now £8.49
Due to Linda’s ongoing mobility issues, I often have to pull two or three suitcases through the airport. Or from Southampton National Express coach station to the hotel.
With one of these straps, I can join the suitcases together in a train. It’s a lot less cumbersome than trying to steer them individually from the handles.

These straps make it easy to pull multiple suitcases together – even over longer distances.
Inflatable pillows (pair) – 3% off, now £3.69
Another mobility-inspired purchase, these inflatable pillows can be used to provide support for problematic limbs (particularly useful when awaiting a hip replacement or similar).
Small, lightweight and taking up very little suitcase space, these pillows can make your trip a little more comfortable. And they are super-cheap too.

Fold flat, go anywhere pillows can be used on planes, trains, coaches, cruise ships or even your local cinema.
Wireless travel router – 26% off, now £20.69
WiFi in hotels and on ships can be hit-and-miss. And some limit you to a single device. This wireless travel router has a repeater mode that allows you to create a WiFi network in your room / stateroom that shares a single connection with all of your devices.
On-ship WiFi often misbehaves when trying to connect to corporate VPNs or content filtering systems. Connecting via your travel WiFi hotspot can solve this problem.
The router is also USB powered, so you could plug it into a cellphone battery pack to create a truly portable WiFi network. The device is smaller than a pack of cards so will easily fit in your hand luggage too.
One word of warning, if you are caught connecting multiple devices through a single account on a ship, you risk having your WiFi access terminated.

Tiny yet powerful, this travel WiFi router makes it simple to get all of your devices online.
Microsoft Office 365 – 27% off, now £76.99
If you work on the move (like I do), a Microsoft Office 365 subscription is essential. In addition to all the usual productivity tools – Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook etc – the subscription includes 1TB of cloud storage space.
With the Family plan, you can share subscription with up to six people too.
Top tip: You can purchase multiple subscriptions in advance and apply them to your existing Microsoft account. They will only be activated when the previous one expires. So it makes sense to pre-purchase if you are an existing Office 365 user.

Working on the move can suck – but Office 365 is still streets ahead of Google Apps.
Crushable Panama hat – 27% off, now £10.85
I’m a big advocate for wearing a hat, and a good-looking Panama is a great choice for summer travel. Made of coated paper, this hat is lightweight and (allegedly) crushable.
It looks good too – well worth £11

Lightweight, comfortable and stylish. What more could you want from a hat?
iBlockCube travel adaptor – 16% off, now £20.99
On land or at sea, there never seems to be enough electrical outlets available. Which is where the iBlockCube can really help.
In addition to providing plug connections for EU, USA and Australia, this adaptor has several USB A and C ports capable of charging multiple phones, iPads and watches simultaneously.
Supplied with its own zippered pouch, my iBlockCube goes everywhere with me – even when we’re not travelling.

With plenty of power options, you’ll be able to charge and recharge all of your devices quickly and easily.
Apple AirTag – 20% off, now £28.00
— OR —
Hoxe Bluetooth tags x 3 – £18.49
Bluetooth tracking tags are essential for ensuring you always know where your suitcases are. You can track their journey via the Find My app on your phone and save loads of time and effort when retrieving luggage from the baggage hall.
We have one for each of our suitcases, our car and Linda’s mobility scooter and they work great – even the non-Apple versions.

Small, lightweight and exceptional value, you’ll never lose anything again. Plus you get three Hoxe Bluetooth trackers for the price of a single Apple AirTag…
Added bonus, Priority Pass membership – 30% off
Although not technically one of our Amazon Prime Day Travel Essentials, this deal is worth considering.
Priority Pass is currently offering 30% off their annual membership fee. Priority Pass allows you to access a global network of airport lounges at reduced rates. Or even ‘free’ if you purchase the highest tier subscription.
Visiting lounges is a great money-saver for frequent travellers. Especially as one lounge visit (with unlimited food and drink) is often cheaper than a meal in an airport restaurant.

A Priority Pass subscription is ideal for frequent travellers, allowing them to escape the madness of an airport terminal.
Please note that we use sponsored links on this blog. Although we may earn a referral fee or bonus points on some of these Amazon Prime Day Travel Essentials, we never recommend anything we wouldn’t use ourselves.
